FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I book?

Each artist has different booking preferences and requirements. If you know who you’d like to be tattooed by, please refer to their profile page for booking information. If you’re not sure who you’d like to be tattooed by, please fill out our general consultation form so we can match you with the artist who will best fit your needs!

Is the shop wheelchair accessible?

Our studio has a ramp entry and any artist is able to tattoo you on our ground floor. We do have some limitations regarding our bathroom, but we will adjust for your needs as best we can. For further information, please check the “Accessibility” section of our contact page and let us know in advance so we can meet your accessibility requirements.

Can you tattoo my skin tone?

Yes! Modern tattooing and body modification originates from Africa and Asia, and the false narrative that these practices won’t work on certain skin tones is a product of colonisation and white supremacy. All of our artists work on all skin tones and have a reel of their work on non-white skin in their Instagram story highlights. In addition, we provide free, no strings attached tattoo color tests to see which colors work best on you personally. We cannot guarantee all colors will look the same on all skin tones, but we will try and match your expectations as best as we can.

Does anyone at the shop have experience with cover-ups?

Arran and Sarah are well versed in covering or reworking old tattoos and tattooing over scar tissue. Scar tissue normally needs to be well-healed (it should look similar to your natural skin tone with no obvious redness) before it can be tattooed over. If you are unsure, please contact us or your chosen artist so we can set up a free consultation.

Each of our artists will take a different approach to cover tattoos. In most cases, some darker shading or colour will be necessary to cover black areas. This does not mean the cover-up will need to be dark and heavy, but rather that it will likely need some strong, contrasting elements to work well. Every cover-up is different, so please ask your artist when booking!

Are your inks vegan?

Always! Almost all modern tattoo inks are vegan. We endeavour to ensure every step of our tattooing process is vegan.

Can I get a walk-in tattoo?

Our artists are often booked weeks in advance, so we always recommend making an appointment for a tattoo. We will post on our Instagram story when we have last-minute openings or walk-in days. You can also always call us on 617-764-1816 to see if we have availability that day.

How do I look after my tattoo?

Check out our aftercare page for detailed aftercare instructions. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

Do you do piercings?

Sadly, we do not. We don’t currently have space. Maybe one day!

I have a disability, can you accommodate me?

We will always do our absolute best! Part of the intake form on our booking system asks if you have any mobility or sensory requirements we should accommodate for. The front room of our shop is ramp-accessible, but the back room is not. Please let us know if you cannot climb stairs, and we’ll happily move your artist to the front room for your session! We also have whiteboards and face masks with clear mouth pieces if verbal communication is a challenge for you, and you can request a quiet appointment if that is preferable.

What are your prices?

All our artists work differently and charge accordingly. The shop minimum is $100, which mostly covers our time and set-up.

How much for a sleeve?

How much for a bag of groceries? This answer varies depending on a ton of different factors. Book a consult to start a discussion with one of our artists!

Wait, it's a club?

We didn’t want PSTC to feel like another lone shop or faceless business. Getting a tattoo is a personal, intimate experience and we felt the name should mirror that. “Club” feels more personal and welcoming. Membership is free, and everyone is welcome!
